నిశీథరాత్రి ముగిసి, గగనం కొంత వెలుగును పొందిన ప్రహేళిక సమయం. తిరుమలలోని ఆ ఆలయం నిశ్శబ్దంగా ఉన్మత్త మంత్రాలను పునరావృతం చేస్తున్నట్టుగా అనిపిస్తుంది. వెండి తలుపుల చుట్టూ అద్భుతమైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక శక్తి పరచుకున్నది. వెండి వాకిలి (వెండి తలుపు) నుండి బయలుదేరిన గోపుర ప్రదక్షిణ మార్గాన్ని భక్తులు ఆశ్చర్యంతో తిలకిస్తారు. ఈ మార్గమే ‘విమాన ప్రదక్షిణ’ అని ప్రసిద్ధి చెందింది.
ప్రతి ప్రాతఃకాలం, లలితమైన మంగళధ్వనులతో కలసి భగవంతునికి సుప్రభాతం సేవ చేయబడుతుంది. ఈ సమయాన భక్తులు అత్యంత భక్తిపూర్వకంగా తమ శరీరాన్ని నేలపై ఒలించుకుని తిరుగుతూ ‘అంగప్రదక్షిణ’ చేస్తారు. ఈ విధానం భక్తుల తమ సకల అపరాధాలను విమోచించుకోవడానికి, ఆ భవసముద్రాన్ని దాటి స్వామివారి అనుగ్రహాన్ని పొందడానికి ఒక అద్భుతమైన మార్గంగా చెప్పబడుతుంది.
వెండి తలుపుల వెనుక రహస్యాలు
వెండి వాకిలి ప్రవేశించిన వెంటనే, భక్తులకు ముందుగా దర్శనమిచ్చే దేవతామూర్తి శ్రీ రంగనాథ స్వామి. ఈ స్వామి విగ్రహం భక్తులను మోక్ష మార్గాన్ని అనుసరించమని ప్రేరేపిస్తుంది. అలాగే, ఆయన స్వయంగా సుప్రభాతం సమయంలో శ్రీనివాసునికి ఆరాధన అందించేందుకు ప్రత్యక్షమవుతాడని భక్తులు విశ్వసిస్తారు.
ఈ మార్గంలోనే శ్రీ వరదరాజ స్వామి ఆలయం కలదు. ఆ ఆలయం మన్నించినవారికి మనస్సాంతిని ప్రసాదించేలా ఉంటుంది. శ్రీనివాసుని మహిమను, ఆయన భక్తులకు కలిగించే అనుగ్రహాన్ని వివరించేందుకు ఈ దేవాలయం ముఖ్య పాత్ర పోషిస్తుంది.
వెనుకనే ప్రధాన వంటశాల (పాకశాల) కనిపిస్తుంది. ఈ వంటశాలలో నిత్యం స్వామికి నైవేద్యం సిద్ధం చేయబడుతుంది. అక్కడ నుంచే స్వామివారి ప్రసాదాన్ని వివిధ ఆలయ ప్రాంతాలకు పంపించబడుతుంది. ప్రధాన వంటశాల పక్కనే ‘గోల్డెన్ వెల్’ (బంగారు బావి) ఉంది. దీని నీటిని మాత్రమే స్వామి అభిషేకం కోసం ఉపయోగిస్తారు.
చుట్టూ గుళ్ళ వైభవం
ఆలయం చుట్టూ చిన్న చిన్న ఆలయాలు ఉన్నాయి. వీటిని ‘చుట్టూ గుళ్లు’ అని అంటారు. ఈ మార్గంలో, అంకురార్పణ మండపం, యాగశాల, నాణేల పారకమని (కొక్కెట్ల నిల్వ), నోట్ల పారకమని (పేపర్ కరెన్సీ నిల్వ), రికార్డుల గది, చందనపు అర (వెండి తలుపుల సమీపంలో స్వామికి ప్రత్యేకంగా చందనాన్ని తయారు చేసే ప్రదేశం) కనిపిస్తాయి.
ఈ మార్గంలో మరో విశేషమైన పుణ్యక్షేత్రం ‘విమాన వెంకటేశ్వర స్వామి’ స్థానం. ఈ దేవాలయం గురించి ఒక పురాణ గాథ ఉంది.
విమాన వెంకటేశ్వరుని మహిమ
ఒకనాడు, తిరుమల నల్లమల అరణ్యంలో తపస్సు చేసుకుంటూ ఉన్న ఒక మహర్షికి ఒక ఆశ్చర్యకరమైన స్వప్నం కలిగింది. శ్రీనివాసుడు స్వయంగా తన ముందు ప్రత్యక్షమై, “నా భక్తులకు విశేషమైన అనుగ్రహం లభించాలంటే, ఆలయ విమాన గోపురాన్ని పూజించాలి” అని ఉపదేశించాడు.
ఆ మహర్షి తన తపస్సును మరింత తీవ్రముగా కొనసాగించాడు. అప్పుడే స్వామి, విమాన గోపురంపై తన మరో రూపాన్ని దర్శనమిచ్చాడు. అప్పటినుంచి, ఈ గోపురంపై ప్రత్యేక పూజలు నిర్వహించడం ఆనవాయితీ అయ్యింది. భక్తులు మునుపటి జన్మలో చేసిన పాపాలు తొలగించుకోవడానికి, మోక్షాన్ని పొందడానికి ఈ ఆలయ విమాన గోపురాన్ని నమస్కరించడం అనివార్యంగా మారింది.
“విమాన ప్రదక్షిణ” చేసే భక్తులు ప్రత్యేకమైన అనుభూతిని పొందుతారు. ఈ మార్గంలోనే శ్రీ రామానుజాచార్యుల ఆసనం (సనిధి భాష్యకారుల స్థానం) ఉంది.
యోగనరసింహ స్వామి & విశ్వక్సేన స్థానాలు
ఈ మార్గంలో మరొక ప్రత్యేకమైన ఆలయం యోగనరసింహస్వామి ఆలయం. ఇది అధిక శక్తిని కలిగి, భక్తులకు ధైర్యాన్ని, విజయాన్ని ప్రసాదించేదిగా ప్రసిద్ధి.
అలాగే, స్వామివారి ప్రధాన పర్యవేక్షకుడు అయిన విశ్వక్సేనుని ఆలయం కూడా ఈ మార్గంలో ఉంది. విశ్వక్సేనుడు శ్రీనివాసుని ఆజ్ఞను పాటిస్తూ ఆలయ రక్షణ బాధ్యతను నిర్వర్తిస్తాడని భక్తుల నమ్మకం.
హుండీ - భక్తుల సమర్పణకు పవిత్ర స్థలం
ఈ మార్గంలోనే స్వామివారి హుండీ (దాన పెట్టే ప్రదేశం) ఉంది. లక్షలాది భక్తులు తమ ఆరాధనార్ధం స్వామికి కానుకలు సమర్పించడానికి హుండీ వద్ద తమ ధనాన్ని సమర్పిస్తారు.
ముగింపు
ఈ ప్రదక్షిణ మార్గంలో ప్రతీ మూలకు ఒక కథ ఉంది. ఒకో మూలలో భక్తి, మరో మూలలో తపస్సు, ఇంకొక చోట నిస్వార్థ సమర్పణ. ఈ మార్గాన్ని ఒకసారి తిలకించిన భక్తుడు తిరిగి జీవితంలో మరోసారి రావాలనే కోరిక కలిగించుకుంటాడు.
వెండి తలుపుల వెనుక గల ఈ మహిమాన్విత మార్గం భక్తులను ఏదో ఒక కొత్త ప్రపంచంలోకి తీసుకెళుతుంది. ఈ ప్రదేశంలో ఒక్కసారి అంగప్రదక్షిణ చేసిన భక్తుడు, భగవంతుని దివ్య అనుగ్రహానికి పాత్రుడవుతాడు. ఆ స్వామి కరుణను పొందిన భక్తులందరికీ కలిగే శాంతి, సంపద, సుఖ సంతోషాలు అనిత్యమైనవి.

The Story of Tirupati Vimana Venkateswara Swamy – The Mystical Path Beyond the Silver Door
The night had just ended, and the early dawn was breaking over the sacred hills of Tirumala. The grand temple, standing tall amidst the mist, echoed with the divine chants of priests preparing for the first rituals of the day. The mystical silver doors of the temple, known as Vendi Vakili (Silver Entrance), stood as a gateway to a sacred path that very few truly understood. Beyond these doors lay a divine path that circumambulated the temple’s grand Ananda Nilaya Vimana, known as Vimana Pradakshina.
The Divine Path – Vimana Pradakshina
Every morning, as the Suprabhata Seva (early morning ritual) was performed for Lord Venkateswara, a unique spiritual practice took place along this sacred path. Devotees, filled with utmost devotion, would perform Anga Pradakshina—rolling on the ground in complete surrender, offering themselves in devotion to the Lord. This sacred vow was believed to wash away sins, bring divine blessings, and offer peace to the soul. Due to this practice, this path was also called the Angapradakshina Marg.
Mysteries Behind the Silver Doors
As one stepped beyond the Silver Entrance, the first deity to bless the devotees was Sri Ranganatha Swamy, who lay in a reclining posture. It was said that Sri Ranganatha himself would spiritually awaken Lord Venkateswara during the Suprabhata Seva, invoking his divine presence.
Moving forward, one encountered the Sri Varadaraja Swamy Temple, known for bestowing divine grace upon devotees. Right next to it stood the main kitchen, where the sacred offerings (Naivedyam) for the Lord were prepared daily. This kitchen maintained age-old traditions, ensuring that the food offered to the deity remained pure and sanctified.
Adjacent to the kitchen was the Golden Well, a sacred water source used exclusively for Lord Venkateswara’s holy rituals. Only this water was used for his daily abhishekam (ritual bath), emphasizing its purity and divine significance.
The Encircling Shrines – Chuttu Gullu
Surrounding the main temple were several smaller shrines known as Chuttu Gullu, each with its own spiritual significance. These included:
- Ankurarpana Mandapam – The hall where sacred rituals for temple festivals were initiated.
- Yagasala – The space where grand yagnas (fire sacrifices) were conducted.
- Nanala Parakamani – The treasury where coins offered by devotees were counted and preserved.
- Notla Parakamani – The place where paper currency was accounted for.
- Chandanapu Ara – The sacred chamber where sandalwood paste for Lord Venkateswara was prepared.
But among these divine structures, one stood out with profound significance—the shrine of Vimana Venkateswara Swamy.
The Legend of Vimana Venkateswara Swamy
Long ago, a great sage performed intense penance in the dense forests of Tirumala. One night, Lord Venkateswara appeared before him in a dream and revealed a divine secret: “Those who seek my ultimate grace must worship the Ananda Nilaya Vimana (temple’s golden tower). My divine presence resides there as well.”
The sage, overwhelmed by this revelation, meditated further until Lord Venkateswara manifested his Vimana Venkateswara form atop the temple’s golden tower. From that day, a special tradition began—devotees would offer their prayers to the Vimana Venkateswara before proceeding for Lord Venkateswara’s darshan, believing that it granted them divine blessings and absolution from past sins.
Even today, before entering the main sanctum, many devotees make it a point to look up at the golden gopuram and offer their prayers, fulfilling an ancient custom that assures them of moksha (liberation).
Other Sacred Shrines Along the Path
As devotees walked further along the Vimana Pradakshina, they came across:
- The Seat of Sri Ramanuja (Sannidhi Bhashyakarulu) – The revered resting place of the great Vaishnavite saint, who played a crucial role in shaping the worship traditions of Tirumala.
- The Temple of Yoganarasimha Swamy – Known for bestowing strength, wisdom, and fearlessness upon devotees.
- The Seat of Vishvaksena – The commander of Lord Vishnu’s celestial army, ensuring that divine order was maintained.
The Hundi – Devotees’ Offering of Faith
One of the most significant stops along this divine pathway was Lord Venkateswara’s Hundi. Millions of devotees placed their heartfelt offerings here, symbolizing their devotion and gratitude. Every coin and note placed in the hundi carried a devotee’s prayer, a hope, a wish—offered with the belief that the Lord would fulfill their desires.
A Journey of Devotion
The Vimana Pradakshina was more than just a circumambulation path; it was a journey through time, faith, and divine grace. Every corner of this path held a legend, every step resonated with ancient prayers, and every shrine whispered stories of miracles and unwavering devotion.
For those who walked this path, there was a promise—of peace, prosperity, and spiritual awakening. And for those who performed Anga Pradakshina, there was an even greater promise—the assurance of Lord Venkateswara’s boundless mercy and salvation.
As devotees finally reached the sanctum, they gazed upon the deity with folded hands, whispering the eternal chant:
“Om Namo Venkatesaya”
And in that moment, they knew—they had arrived at the feet of the Divine.
